UNIVERSITI Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) has appointed the Managing Director of Gading Kencana Sdn. Bhd., Datuk Ir. Guntor Tobeng as the Faculty Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Faculty of Engineering and Electrical.
In the appointment letter, UniMAP said it is for the years 2025 and 2026.
The appointment was made based on Guntor’s experience of almost 30 years in the field of engineering, especially involving renewable energy, including developing solar farms in the country.
Based on the appointment letter, he will carry out his duties based on the guidelines set by UniMAP.
The aim is for the university, especially students, to benefit and benefit from the experience and expertise possessed by Guntor and Gading Kencana.
Gading Kencana, founded by Guntor in 1998, is one of the leading companies in the renewable energy sector in the Malaysia, fully owned by bumiputera.
UniMAP introduced the CEO program with the aim of optimizing the marketability of its graduates through programs designed together with the industry to suit current needs.
It’s can strengthen the core program through expertise shared from the experiences of leading companies.
It will also open up opportunities for UniMAP students to undergo industrial training at the company in question. – SM
